Softball: Pavlik Named To Academic All-District Team

Delaware Valley College junior shortstop Bethany Pavlik (Lewes, DE/Sussex Tech) has earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Softball Academic All-District II Third Team.

An equine science and management major who maintains a 3.77 cumulative grade point average, Pavlik started all 30 games for the Aggies and led the team in batting (.430), slugging (.634), on-base percentage (.481) and hits (40). She was also second on the squad in doubles (5), triples (1), home runs (4), runs scored (18) and RBIs (21).

Pavlik helped a young Delaware Valley squad qualify for the Freedom Conference playoffs for the third consecutive year. The team finished the 2009 campaign with 14-16 overall record (10-6 in the Freedom).

The members of CoSIDA select the academic teams in their respective districts with the first-team selections moving on to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in class standing, a starter or significant reserve and maintain a 3.30 or better cumulative grad point average. The College Division District II consists of all non-NCAA Division I college and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
