The Compendium of Best Works
The Compendium of Best Works
Year One:
- An analysis of Critical Thinking across the curriculum began in 2004-2005.
- The work of the first year was summarized in Volume I of a Compendium of Best Works which included contributions from various academic departments, including Agronomy, Business Administration, Education, Equine Studies and Liberal Arts
- Assessment of this outcome continues
Year Two:
- A Compendium of Best Works (Volume II) was created to recognize the good work and efforts made by faculty in the areas of Critical Thinking/Problem Solving (Year One) and Information Literacy (Year Two).
- In the spirit of information sharing, pertinent assignments, exams, syllabi, and other means of assessment of Critical Thinking and Information Literacy have been included in a workbook for faculty review and study.
- This project will serve as an impetus to further define Critical Thinking and/or Information Literacy in remaining courses in respective departments
- This project will provide models and examples for inclusion of other outcomes in succeeding years and offer ideas for program improvement.
Year Three:
- Director of Assessment and Institutional Research to be hired
- Faculty/Departments will be charged with not only the continued examination of Critical Thinking and Information Literacy, but potentially these three new outcomes:
Work Ethics
Organizational/Leadership Skills
Cultural/Social Literacy
