Anti-Virus For Employees

Technology Services has purchased Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition. this system is centrally managed. All software and virus definition updates are completed by us. Your system will be checked for viruses periodically during the overnight hours. Leaving you system on at night will allow this virus scan to take place and you will not be impacted during the day. If you are unable to leave your computer on and connected to the College's network, possibly because you have a laptop that you take home, your system will be scanned during the day.

These scans usually run on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Once a scan has started you will have several options. You can pause the scan for a brief while or you can hit snooze. These options will allow you to run the scan at a more opportune time. The scan cannot and should not be stopped.
