We know it's hard to choose between Zoo Science, Small Animal Science or Conservation & Wildlife Management in the Animal Biotechnology and Conservation Department at Delaware Valley College. For this reason, we encourage students to make the decision after the first year of study, when they have had a chance to see exactly what the department has to offer.
Each major gives students a different approach to the discipline. Small Animal Science, for example, prepares students for admission into veterinary school, graduate work or employment in one of the allied health professions. Many students also often enter into research or management in biomedical or pharmaceutical firms.
Our Conservation & Wildlife Management major is geared toward students interested in the conservation or management of small animals. Students in the conservation track will find themselves well prepared for a career in wildlife biology, conservation or game management.
Zoo Science emphasizes training in zoo and aquarium biology. DelVal is proud to offer one of the two four-year Zoo Science programs in the United States. Our students often work closely with local Elmwood Park Zoo to get a hands-on experience of the industry during their studies.
