Dr. Guoqi (George) Lu is currently an associate professor and the chair of the Computer and Business Information Systems (CBIS) department at Delaware Valley College. The department has four full-time faculty members and offers introductory-level computer courses (IT Concepts and Computer Applications) to all DelVal students and the full range of IT courses (from Programming to Networks) to students in CBIS program. Dr. Lu has taught 12 undergraduate courses and one graduate course at DelVal.

Before joining DelVal in 2000, Dr. Lu was an associate professor at the Mountain State University (formerly the College of West Virginia) in Beckley, WV for five years and taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Mathematics and Statistics.

Dr. Lu received his Ph. D. in Mathematics at the University of South Florida in 1995. He spent five years studying stochastic processes, representing images using math equations and matrices and generating computer images from math equations and matrices.

Dr. Lu is married and has a lovely wife and two sons. Dr. Lu came from the People’s Republic of China in 1990 and is now a US citizen.
