The DelVal Difference

At Delaware Valley College, you have the opportunity to attend an outstanding, affordable private science institution. Many of our students receive scholarships based on their high school achievements or other factors you may not have considered.

Hands-on involvement is a basic part of our school's philosophy of scholarship with applied experience. Our size ensures you ample laboratory time within well-equipped work spaces and provides the opportunity for exciting, meaningful dialogue with classmates and professors.

We are authorized by the American Chemical Society's (ACS) Committee on Professional Training to offer the ACS-certified B.S. degree in chemistry. Upon graduation, approximately 80% of our graduates seek employment as chemists in the chemical or pharmaceutical industries; about 20% pursue graduate or professional studies.

DelVal understands the value in a curriculum heavily based in theoretical and applied chemistry, with strong themes of problem solving and critical thinking, communication skills, computer applications, synthesis, separations and characterizations and sound safety and hazardous materials handling practices.

We provide you with state-of-the-art facilities, and, as a chemistry major, you’ll have the opportunity to work with researchers from Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), which runs its Jefferson Center for Biomedical Research on the DelVal campus. This experience gives you, the student, the opportunity to work in cutting-edge laboratories with world-renowned scientists. We're talking real bench work, not sitting in a lab cleaning beakers.
