What's New

Dr. Yun Li, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, earned his B.S. degree in Biology from Peking University and his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at Rutgers University. Dr. Li teaches courses in both Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Mr. Ronald Petruso, formally a long-time adjunct faculty member at the college, is now a member of the full-time faculty. Mr. Petruso teaches a variety of courses, ranging from Organic Chemistry to Introduction to Forensic Science. Mr. Petruso has also taken responsibility for coordinating the General Chemistry Laboratory.

Dr. Stephens, Associate Professor of Chemistry, continues to incorporate our Anasazi-upgraded NMR into the Organic Chemistry curriculum. He has participated with Mr. Petruso in week-long summer chemistry workshops in June for students from the Central Bucks School District.

Dr. McPherson continues to modernize the Biochemistry laboratory with generous support from the college and local pharmaceutical company donations. She recently carried out a research project with a junior Chemistry majors involving the determination of quaternary protein structure using SDS PAGE. This work was made possible by a $6000 grant from Merck and Co., Inc. Dr. McPherson has also spent time revising the Principles of Organic Chemistry laboratory manual.

Dr. Weber continues to teach the Radioisotopes course, with the largest enrollment we have seen in many years, while Dr. Garrett works on new experiments with our current students in both Physical Chemistry I and Descriptive Environmental Chemistry.
