Linda Maisel

Dr. Linda Maisel received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in the traditional oral narratives of the Q’eqchi Maya of highland Guatemala. At Delaware Valley College, she teaches Composition, Professional Communications, the History of the English Language and Linguistics. These courses are especially relevant to her research interests, which include the structure of languages and their function in social interaction.

Before coming to the College, Dr. Maisel was a teacher of English as a Second Language at the English Language Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, an editor at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, a member of the English faculty at Spring Garden College in Philadelphia and a freelance copywriter.
