Richard Hunt

Dr. Richard Hunt is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, where he was the first American to receive the Ph.D. in their Program in Literature and Environment. Dr. Hunt is an active member of numerous academic organizations, including the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE), the Society for Science, Literature, and the Arts (SLSA) and the Western Literature Association (WLA). He has published articles, essays and reviews in some of the major journals in his field and has presented both critical and creative papers at several dozen academic conferences.

Since coming to DelVal in August 2003, he has taught the full range of core courses in the English Department. He has designed and presented two courses through the Honors Program and has developed three new courses for the English Department, including Environmental Literature, World Literature and a special Themes course on the Literature of American Minorities.

Dr. Hunt serves on numerous college committees and has served since 2004 as an advisor for the Habitat for Humanity Club's Alternate Spring Break trip. In addition to his active academic involvement, he is an avid folk musician and songwriter. As such, he serves on the Planning Committee for the Bucks County Folk Song Society and performs regularly at the Society's events.
