At an Arena Driving Trial, the same horse(s) and driver compete in three different events: driven dressage, hazards and cones. We will offer training level and preliminary divisions for horses and ponies.
After each competitor has completed their dressage test, they will drive a cones course. Two hazards will be set up in the arena, one at each end. Competitors will have the opportunity to walk the hazards before they drive the final phase.
An Arena Driving Trial (ADT) is an indoor version of a Horse Driving Trial, which is a one-day version of a Combined Driving Event; the even usually lasts three days, with each phase on a different day. The event will be scored like a CDE, except that time in the hazards for training-level competitors is scored as it is for preliminary competitors, with one penalty point for each 5 seconds in the hazard. At each level, the competitor with the lowest score overall is declared the winner.
