  • Horatio Alger Association Scholarships
    • Deadline: April 15, 2008
    • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen enrolled full time as a high school senior with a commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution.   • American Chemical Society

    • To qualify, students must be an African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian, U.S citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university or community college with a 3.0 grade point average or better and demonstrated financial need.   • American Institute of CPA Minority Scholarship
    • Deadline: June 1, 2008
    • Undergraduate students must be a declared accounting major with an overall and accounting GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale; a minority student who has satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or equivalent college work, including at least six semester hours in accounting and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours or equivalent) unless the student is completing a final semester of study at a four-year or upper division institution. Students who will be attending a four-year school for the first time must include an acceptance letter from the school. The scholarship award is between $1000 and $5000; the number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • Angelfire Scholarship – Datatel
    • Deadline: January 31, 2008
    • This scholarship is available for students who are veterans of the Vietnam War, spouses or children of Vietnam veterans or refugees (during 1964 - 1975) from Vietnam, Laos or Cambodia. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • Career Incentive Awards - Lighthouse International
    • Deadline: February 28, 2008
    • Applicants must be legally blind (i.e. have a best corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye, and/or a visual field of less than 20 degrees in the better eye). Scholarships are based on academic and other achievements, and candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and reside and attend school in any of the following states:  CT, DE, FL, GA, MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ,  NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, WV, VT or Washington, DC. Proof of citizenship will be required of all winners. Previous winners (in any category) of Lighthouse Scholarships, current Lighthouse employees and members of their immediate families are ineligible.   • Cargill Community Scholarship Program +
    • Deadline: February 15, 2008
    • This scholarship is open to all high school seniors living in communities near Cargill operations, who will graduate in the spring and whose parents derive at least half their income from farming. Candidates must be enrolled full-time next fall at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school. The scholarships application requires a signature of a Cargill or Cargill joint-venture employee from the community where the student lives. Students do not need to be members of FFA to be eligible.

  • Chicago Mercantile Exchange & National Pork Producers Council
    • Deadline: January 11, 2008
    • Student must be in a two-year swine program or a four-year agricultural institution. Students must submit a brief letter indicating what role you see yourself playing in the pork industry after graduation, write an essay of 750 words or less words describing an issue you see confronting the pork industry today or in the future and offer your solutions, obtain two letters of reference from current or former professors or industry professionals and provide a cover letter. There are four scholarships in the amount of $2500 available each academic year.

  • Clemens Family Corporation Scholarship
    • Deadline: March 14, 2008
    • Students must be a junior or senior with financial need majoring in Large Animal Science with a GPA of 3.0 or better. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies. 
  • The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation - Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program
    • Deadline: February 1, 2008
    • Applicants must be a student attending a community college or two-year institution in the US and be planning to transfer to a four-year institution. There are approximately 50 scholarships with awards up to $30,000 available per academic year.

  • Datatel Scholars Foundation
    • Deadline: January 31, 2008
    • Applicants must be a undergraduate or graduate student who attends a college or university that is a Datatel site. Please click here for criteria for several different scholarships available and an online application. Scholarship awards range from $700 to $2000; the number of scholarships available per academic year varies.
  • Delaware Valley Unit Herb Society of America
    • This scholarship is available to students entering their junior or senior year and who are enrolled in the Horticulture or Ornamental Horticulture major. The Department Chairperson will nominate recipient. One scholarship is available per academic year; the scholarship award amount varies.
  • Doylestown Nature Club Scholarship
    • This student must be a junior or senior majoring in Agronomy/Environmental Science, Ornamental Horticulture/Environmental Design or Horticulture with an exceptional academic record. Bucks County residents preferred. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student +
    • Deadline: January 11, 2008
    • Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. Current college students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; resident alien status does not qualify. Male and female students compete separately. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. Approximately 500 scholarships are available per academic year; scholarship amounts range from $1000 to $15,000 per academic year.

  • Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania Scholarships
    • The following scholarships are awarded to students who plan to further their education in Horticulture, Floiculture, Landscape Architecture, Conservation, Forestry, Biology, Botany, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Environmental Control, City Planning, Land Management and/or allied subjects. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania and must be sponsored by a Federated Garden Club. The following scholarships are available to high school seniors, college students and post-graduate college students. Each scholarship award is a minimum of $1,000. Available scholarships include the Loise W. Dimmic Endowed Scholarship, the Marjorie E. Hamblin Annual Endowed Scholarship, the Catherine H. Kenworthy Endowed Scholarship, the Lois Dupre' Shuster Endowed Scholarship and the Mary Alice Wheeler Endowed Scholarship.
    • Miriam A. Steel Scholarship - Available to a high school senior. Preference will be given to a high school gardener, FFA or 4-H member. The State Chairman must receive all applications by February 15, 2008.
    • Katherine L. Reiger Scholarship - Available to a college student or post-graduate college student whose scholastic average is a "B" or above. Applicants may apply in their sophomore year. The state winner will compete for one of the National Council Scholarships of $3500.
    • Constance H. Smith Endowed Scholarship - Available to a college student or post-graduate college student each year. Applicants may apply in their freshman year. A minimum award of $1000 is granted.
    • Jane Layman Scholarship - Available to a high school senior every four years. A "B" average must be maintained to keep this scholarship enforced. On or before July 1, the recipient must send his/her scholastic record to the State Scholarship Chairman. Failure to comply will result in loss of the remaining money. Should the recipient forfeit by dropping out of school or not maintain a "B" average, a new winner will be selected the following year instead of the four-year period. The State Chairman must receive all new applications by February 15, 2008.
    • Edith Clemmer Steinbright Endowed Scholarship - Available to high school seniors, college students and post-graduate students each year. Preference will be given to a student from the southeastern part of the state. A minimum of $1000 is provided.
    • Audubon Scholarship - Available for the amount of $500 and is available to a Federated Garden Club member, a teacher or a college student for the Audubon Camp of his/her choice. A Garden Club member may receive this scholarship once every five years. The winner is responsible for their own transportation and any increase in fees. The sponsoring Garden Club may pay additional fees. The State Chairman must receive all applications by March 15, 2008.

  • Garden Club of Harrisburg
    • Applicants must be a graduate of a local high school or current college student, preferably from the local area, pursuing the study of Floriculture, Plant Pathology, Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design and related studies. Scholarship award is $1500; the number of scholarships available varies.
  • Garden Club of Somerset Valley, Inc. - Rudolf W. & Ans Van Der Goot Memorial Scholarship
    • Must be a resident of Somerset, Middlesex or Hunterdon County, or must be a New Jersey resident, in that order of preference. Must be enrolled full-time as a sophomore at Delaware Valley College and must have achieved outstanding academic excellence in a chosen major field of Horticulture, Plant Science or related flora areas such as a Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting and Management. Financial need is taken into consideration. The award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.
  • Gates Millennium Scholars Program
    • Deadline: January 11, 2008 for online applications
    • Applicants must be entering a college or university as full-time, degree-seeking freshman. All applicants must also meet the eligibility criteria established for the federal Pell Grant Program. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program invites nominations for minority students completing undergraduate and graduate degree programs, particularly in the fields of mathematics, science, engineering, education or library science.   • Hispanic College Fund Scholarships
    • Deadline: March 15, 2008
    • Eligible students must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent, must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico, must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year, must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year 2008-2009, must have earned and maintain a cumulative GPA of no less than a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate financial need.   • Hispanic Scholarship Fund
    • Deadline: March 15, 2008
    • You or your family must be descended from at least one of the following countries: Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Cuba, Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic.  Students from Brazil are eligible to apply. Students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent), be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 and be pursuing or plan to pursue your first undergraduate or graduate degree. Students must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time as an undergrad or graduate student in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam.   • Herb Gathers
    • Student must be enrolled in the Ornamental Horticulture curriculum with a special interest in Herb Propagation, be an upperclassman from Pennsylvania with a "B" average and have financial need. The recipient is nominated by Department Chairperson. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.
  • Hughesian Grant-In-Aid
    • Deadline: April 15, 2008
    • The applicant must be a legal resident of Buckingham Township in Pennsylvania and must obtain the College Scholarship Service (CSS) financial aid profile brochure from his or her high school or college. This brochure tells you exactly how to register and apply (two different steps) for this service. Indicate your interest in the Hughesian Free School Trust, Code # 7188. You may register as early as January 1, 2008 but no later than March 1, 2008. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • The Liberty Mutual Scholarship Fund
    • Must be a full-time student at a private college/university affiliated with the Foundation for Independent Higher Education located in a qualifying state or be a legal/permanent resident and enrolled full-time at a private college/university affiliated with the Foundation for Independent Higher Education. Qualifying states include California, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. A list of the 655 private colleges and universities affiliated with FIHE can be found on the Foundation's website: http://www.fihe.org. Also, the student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, be matriculated as a junior at the time of application and have an appropriate major and interest in working in a business environment.   • The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation +
    • Deadline: March 3, 2008 (high school seniors and incoming freshmen) April 15, 2008 (all other applicants)
    • Must be the son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the Reserve, a former Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge or who was killed while in the service of our Country, or a former U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served with the U.S. Marine Corps.   • Martha Washington Garden Club Scholarship
    • Deadline: April 30, 2008
    • Must be a high school or college student who plans to pursue a career in any of the following fields: Horticulture or related fields, such as Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Conservation or Floriculture and plan to attend an accredited college to further their education in one of the listed fields.   • Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship Program
    • Deadline: February 15, 2008
    • Scholarships are designated for graduating high school seniors. Recipients are selected based on their achievement, financial need, community involvement and personal qualities and strengths as portrayed in a required essay.   • John McKee Scholarship Program
    • Deadline: February 1, 2008
    • Applicant must be a high school senior or graduate not over the age of 19 at time of application, who are fatherless boys (i.e. the father is actually dead or has been declared missing by a competent authority) of any race in need of financial assistance and are native to the five-county Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia).   • Morris Land Conservancy's Scholarship Program
    • Deadline: April 1, 2008
    • Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey, considering a career in New Jersey in an environmental field, a student in good academic standing (at least 15 credits completed) at a college or university offering a recognized degree in environmental science, natural resource management, conservation, horticulture, park administration or a related field and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.   • National Italian American Foundation Scholarship Program
    • Deadline: March 6, 2008
    • To be considered for a NIAF scholarship, a student must be enrolled in an U.S. accredited institution of higher education for the Fall 2008, have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent), be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien, fit into one of the two NIAF scholarship categories and, for the purposes of the NIAF Scholarship Program, to be "Italian American" the student must have at least one ancestor who has immigrated from Italy.   • National Merit Scholarship Corporation
    • Deadline: Please see PSAT/NMSQT Student Bulletin
    • Eligibility: All areas of study. Students must be U.S. citizens. Students enter the competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT in October of their junior year in high school. There are approximately 7000 awards per year; non-renewable scholarships are awarded at $2500; renewable scholarships are awarded between $250 and $2000 or more.

  • National Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation
    • Deadline: March 10, 2008
    • Eligible students must be majoring in accounting with a "B" or better grade point average, students enrolled in a degree program at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university and be in their second, third or fourth year committed to their major in accounting. Only undergraduate students are eligible; only U.S. or Canadian citizens attending a U.S. accredited business school, college or university may apply.     • Applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 22, have been in the care and custody of the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) for a period of nine months or more following the youth's 16th birthday, currently reside in or have previously resided in a New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services paid placement for at least two years, be adopted through the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services after age 12 or be in a subsidized adoption at the time of application, reside in or have resided in an independent living arrangement or transitional living program for youth in out-of-home placement ( the facility or program must be established, operated or approved for payment by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services, the federal government pursuant to the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act or the New Jersey Homeless Youth Act ), be in possession of a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency, be granted admission to an accredited degree or certificate granting post-secondary institution and register and participate in the E-Mentoring Program through Project MY SELF while receiving any assistance through the NJFC Scholars Program. The scholarship award and number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • J.J. Noonan scholarship
    • Deadline: April 2, 2008
    • Students must be pursuing a career in the laboratory animal sciences. Awards are based on merit, achievement and financial need. Scholarships of $800 are awarded; the number of scholarships available per academic year varies.

  • Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund
    • Deadline: January 2, 2008
    • Must be a woman currently residing in the United States who has earned a high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago; must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school. Only applicants seeking a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university are eligible to receive a $10,000 award.  Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements.
