The Food Science program at DelVal includes learning about food product development, safety and nutrition, freshness, sanitation, storage and handling, making foods, crafting beer and wines, food composition, structure, biology and chemistry.
The principles and practices of food science, as well as a core of basic science, are highlights of both the Food Technology and Food Science majors. Career opportunities exist for both majors; however, students interested in pursuing an advanced degree upon graduation may opt for the Food Science major, which features more physics and mathematics backgrounds.
