In addition to the scholarships available through DelVal's Financial Aid Office (link to scholarships), aid is available to our students through the Institute of Food Technologists, of which Delaware Valley College is a Philadelphia regional section member.
The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) encourages and supports the study of food science and technology by offering over 100 undergraduate scholarships and more than 30 graduate fellowships. Sponsored by food industry companies, organizations, IFT Divisions, IFT Sections and the IFT Foundation, the awards help young scientists receive the education and training necessary to fill positions in industry, government and academia.
The Philadelphia regional Section of IFT offers financial scholarships in studies related to Food Science through its Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program is designed as a recruitment tool for local colleges and universities that promote the advancement of Food Science/Technology or other closely related fields.
The Philadelphia region entails schools in the following zip codes: 080-084, 087, 180-181, 183-185, 189-194, 197-198. Scholarships may also benefit local area students who are pursuing degrees at institutions outside the immediate zip code areas. Lastly, the Scholarship Program is intended to provide local food companies with qualified, technically-trained individuals to satisfy their employment needs.
The National Meat Association Scholarship Foundation offers financial support to encourage undergraduate students to pursue a curriculum leading to a degree in Animal Sciences, Meat Sciences or Food Sciences. The deadline for filing the scholarship application is the beginning of May.
