The Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library plays a central role in helping Delaware Valley College achieve its mission of providing students a quality education in high-science agriculture, the biological and physical sciences, the social and information sciences, the liberal arts and business. Beyond its immediate responsibility to provide the information services and resources that support the courses of study offered at the College, the library has the broader mission of fostering in our students an appreciation of our diverse cultural heritage and the importance and necessity of lifelong learning. Without intellectual freedom and open access to information, good citizenship cannot thrive.
To support this mission, the library and its staff are committed to the following objectives:
- Organize and maintain a collection of the highest quality information resources, whether print, electronic or microform
- Promote information literacy and the efficient use of information resources by providing group and individual library instruction that stresses critical and evaluative skills
- Maintain a physical environment that encourages study and reflection, which will stimulate the examination and formulation of values
- Provide access to and facilitate the retrieval of information resources not owned or licensed by the Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library
- Provide all library staff with a work environment that encourages skill development and professional growth
