Dr. Barbara Muse, Chair of the NRBM Department and Professor of Plant Science, has over 25 years of experience in teaching botany, genetics, plant pathology and plant disease diagnosis. She helped to develop the introductory course "Exploring Horticulture, Science & the Environment" as well as the "Women in Science" course. Dr. Muse is a recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award and the NACTA Teaching Award of Merit from the North American Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. She is Director of the Henry Schmieder Arboretum and co-advisor of the DelVal Horticulture Society.
