Richard Cowhig, Assistant Professor of Floriculture & Nursery Management, has over 25 years of experience in teaching and applied research in floral commodities. He has worked in the commercial flower industry at the University of Massachusetts Suburban Experiment Station in Waltham and as a research assistant at the University of Maryland. Professor Cowhig offers courses in Floral Crop Production, Greenhouse Management, Plant Propagation and Floral Techniques. He is the coordinator of the Eastern PA Poinsettia and Pansy Trial held at Delaware Valley College in the fall and works closely with the Pennsylvania Flower Industries Association and PSU Extension Service. Professor Cowhig has been a recipient of the NACTA Teaching Award of Merit.
