Leadership Opportunities

photo_tilted5One advantage of a small school can be seen in the many leadership opportunities available to students. At Delaware Valley College, students can challenge themselves, work with a diverse community and develop life-long skills in organization. Students learn not only what it takes to be an effective leader, but they also are encouraged to exercise learned skills through work with clubs and organizations or through one of several select paid or volunteer positions. The descriptions below outline a few of the leadership opportunities you may encounter at DelVal.

Resident Advisors (RA)
Resident Advisors are paid student leaders who live in the residence halls and enforce the policies of the college while building a strong community through residence hall programs.

Orientation Leaders (OL)
New Student Ambassadors are upperclass students who work with incoming students during the SOAR (Student Orientation Advising and Readiness) program and the August Week of Welcome. NSAs also act as Peer Mentors throughout students' first years.

Student Government Board (SGB)
The Student Government Board serve as a liaison between the students and the administration. They act as a coordinating unit and fund campus groups and activities through funding from the student-activities fee. Positions are both elected and appointed.

Presidential Diplomats
The Presidential Diplomats serve as campus tour guides for the Admissions department and represent the college for a variety of functions.
