Counseling Psychology: Overview

Counseling psychology is one of the most popular fields in psychology. The field is focused on helping people with various psychological problems. These problems may include everyday stresses, such as academic trouble or career difficulties, or more severe disorders, such as depression and anxiety. The career paths of counseling psychologists may include psychotherapy, teaching and research.

At Delaware Valley College, students may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in counseling psychology or minor in psychology. Our curriculum provides foundational knowledge and skills, while also offering flexibility in your training. You choose the advanced psychology electives that best fit your interests! Additionally, you will gain practical experience through the campus employment program.
