Dr. Amanda Davis

Dr. Amanda Davis is passionate about teaching and people development and is eager to share her knowledge and experience with students at Delaware Valley University.

Growing up on a small cow/calf operation in southeast Oklahoma, Dr. Davis learned the importance of improving the sustainability of livestock operations at an early age, a lesson that ultimately shaped her career. Dr. Davis completed her graduate degrees at the University of Arkansas where she specialized in the reproductive physiology of beef cattle and developed a strong background in ruminant nutrition and molecular genetics.

It’s important to Dr. Davis that her students understand that she sees them first as people and second as students. Furthermore, she understands the value of experiential learning and strives to actively engage students in the learning process creating the greatest opportunities for learning. 

Dr. Davis has taught numerous courses in areas of animal science and conducted research focused on factors affecting animal health and production in cattle and horses. By incorporating undergraduate students into her research interest, she encourages students to address real problems facing the livestock industry and investigate solutions.

Dr. Davis also has extensive industry experience in areas of employee and leadership development, operations and improving company culture. It is her desire to use this experience to benefit the students of DelVal by stimulating their personal and professional growth, leading them to be more employable in their chosen career endeavors.

During her free time, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with her family, riding motorcycles, hunting and working in her flower beds.
