Dr. Cassandra Gluck-Flynn joined Delaware Valley University in 2025 as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Animal Science, where she teaches animal science and animal nutrition courses. Dr. Gluck-Flynn is a dedicated researcher and educator. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Equine Science minor from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and her Ph.D. in Animal Science and Nutrition from North Carolina State University, in which her research focused on the fecal microbiome and in-vitro fermentation patterns, iron and glucose metabolism and inflammatory cytokines in horses. She discovered her passion for teaching at N.C. State where she was a graduate teaching assistant for Biological Sciences and Animal Science courses, in which she assisted students with hands-on activities during labs. She has also presented her research at several conferences including Equine Science Society, American Society of Animal Science and the International Conference on Equine Exercise Physiology. Additionally, she has published multiple conference abstracts as well as a first-author research publication and is currently working on publishing more research from her Ph.D. work. She capped her time at N.C. State by earning the Department of Animal Science Graduate Teaching Award.

Dr. Gluck-Flynn is motivated by the students she teaches each day and thinks students should learn through a variety of experiential learning techniques, especially hands-on learning. “I believe there is always room for improvement so I want to continually strive to improve my teaching in order for the students I work with to be successful in their future endeavors."
