Julia Krout ’04 is an assistant professor of Animal Biotechnology and Conservation. She returned to her alma mater to teach in 2022. After earning her B.S. in Small Animal Science from DelVal, Krout earned a Master’s of Laboratory Animal Science (MLAS) from Drexel University, and obtained a Laboratory Animal Technologist certification from the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) in 2009.

Since 2004, Krout has worked in many areas developing her experience and knowledge of scientific research with a wide variety of research animals including Aquatics, Gnotobiotics and NHPs, and oversaw compliance, staff and scientist training, and human resources matters. From 2009-2022, she worked in New York City where she obtained her Certified Manager of Animal Resources from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers and completed the Institute for Laboratory Animal Management by AALAS in 2014. She spent time working for institutions such as Weill Cornell, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and NYU Langone Health.

Julia Krout has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who on April 24, 2024. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.

Krout also believes in giving back and being active in her local community. She has been a supporter of the Doylestown American Legion Post 210 since childhood, helping at activities alongside her grandfather, Marine Veteran Raymond Krout. She is currently a member of Unit 210 Auxiliary. She also has held many roles with the Metro NY AALAS, Delaware Valley Branch AALAS, and became a recent member of the Plumsteadville Grange. Krout is a proud Bucks County 4-H Alumni and has volunteered with the group in different ways to continue to support the local youth because of how much the 4-H program supported her and helped her realize her passion.
