Main Campus Agriculture and Animal Facilities

Delaware Valley University’s main campus houses extensive agriculture, horticulture and animal facilities that are all within easy walking distance from residence halls, classrooms and the dining hall. 

Agriculture and Horticulture Facilities

Arthur Poley Greenhouses
The Arthur Poley Greenhouse complex was completely renovated with state-of-the-art technology in 2023 and has four production rooms including two with standard production beds, a hydroponics room, and a Nutrient Film Technology Hydroponic room.

Tillable Crop Land
Main campus has 125 acres of tillable land where students plant, grow and harvest a variety of crops for human or animal consumption.

Feldstein Horticulture Lab
The newly-upgraded Feldstein Horticulture Lab houses classrooms and laboratory facilities for student and faculty research.

Fruit Orchards
Main campus has peach and apple orchards where students get hands-on learning for three different training systems in fruit production.

Animal Facilities

Mandell Small Animal Science Lab
The Mandell Small Animal Science Lab is a bio-secure facility housing reptiles, birds, mice, hamsters, rats and fish. Students learn proper handling, health assessment, nutrition, animal enrichment programs and other career-focused skills.

Allman Small Animal Science Lab
The Allman Small Animal Science Lab is a bio-secure facility where rabbits, guinea pigs and cats provide hands-on learning opportunities for handling, wellness and behavioral study.

Livestock Science Center
The Livestock Center houses over 100 animals including cattle, goats and sheep and provides valuable hands-on learning and research opportunities. A new cattle barn opens in early 2027.

Dairy Science Center
The Dairy Science Center holds 50 active milk cows representing all seven major breeds and 60 young heifers raised for the next generation of milk cows. Students operate the dairy for daily milk production as well as monitoring health and reproduction.

Swine Center
The Swine Science Center is a bio-secure facility housing over 50 pigs where students gain hands-on experience in handling, health monitoring, research and production.
