“I am in tears right now, but for good reason,” said Marion Callahan, professor of media and communications and DelVal. “I’m so proud of all of our students for earning the state’s top award for college news & feature media. Nothing makes me more proud or fulfilled than seeing our students recognized for their hard work. And for our students, whether they are among the “named” winners or not, all producers for The Full360 product played a role in this first-ever DelVal media victory. Every singer writer, photographer, designer, videographer and creator who produced content for The Full360 in 2024 contributed to this Sweepstakes win.”

DelVal’s Full360 media team is comprised of about 30 students, most of whom study in the University’s media and communications department. The students work hard to tell stories of the University community and document topics that mean the most to them through different mediums including journalism, photography, digital website production, videography, graphic design and more. DelVal professors of media and communications Marion Callahan and Doug McCambridge serve as advisors.

Students will be honored at the Student Keystone Media Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 3, at WITF’s Public Media Center in Harrisburg. The event includes “ask-me-anything” sessions with professional journalists, tours of WITF’s facilities, and a networking lunch, followed by the awards presentation.

The Student Keystone Media Awards contest recognizes high school and college journalism that provides relevance, integrity, and initiative in serving readers. Any student at any public, private or parochial Pennsylvania high school, college or university who has had their material published in the school news publication may enter the contest. Students who have had their work published on a digital news site may enter the contest provided the site meets the criteria as outlined in the contest rules.
