Alumni Association Achievement Awards


Alumni may be nominated by any alumnus, members of the faculty, administration, staff, the Board of Trustees, a friend, a coworker, a close associate, or family. Alumni may be considered without regard to geographic location, profession, or major areas of study while a student at the University. Alumni selected to receive an achievement award will be recognized at the Alumni Achievement Awards Ceremony held during homecoming.


Nomination Process

Nominations are made by clicking, Alumni Achievement Awards.  The nominator will be asked to present as much information as possible about the nominee. Once a nomination is received, the nominee will be contacted and asked to supply additional information.

One winner will be picked from each of following 10 categories:  
 

  • Animal Science - Dairy Science, Equine Science/Equine Studies, Animal Science - Large OR Small, Animal Biotechnology and Conservation, Poultry Husbandry.                                    
  • Business Administration - Agribusiness, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems Management.
  • Continuing Education - Graduate of Continuing Education programs.
  • Graduate School Degree - doctoral program, master’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Criminal Justice, Counseling Psychology, Education, and Agribusiness. 
  • Plant Science - Agronomy and Environmental Science, Horticulture - Fruit/Vegetable Science, Environmental Management, Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Science.
  • Science - Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, English/Written Communication, Food Science and Management, Mathematics, Criminal Justice Administration.
  • National Farm School/National Agricultural College - Open only to graduates from the National Farm School or The National Agricultural College.       
  • Arthur Brown Award - Open to all alumni with an emphasis on support of the University and Alumni Association.
  • President’s Distinguished Alumni Award chosen by the President of the University. Presented to an alumnus in recognition of significant leadership volunteer service to Delaware Valley University or it predecessors, The National Farm School, The National Agricultural College, and Delaware Valley College, in promoting the effectiveness of the Alumni Association over a period of years; and for outstanding contribution to the welfare of Delaware Valley University or its predecessors. 

 

Once the nominations are closed, the Awards Committee of the Alumni Council will review all nominations and present recommendations for the appropriate Alumni Achievement Award to the Council for final selection.
