Students Prepare for A-Day at Delaware Valley University

Posted on

A-Day, a cherished event at Delaware Valley University (DelVal), will be held on Friday, April 12; Saturday, April 22; and Sunday, April 23 on the University's campus. A-Day, which stands for Activities Day, is a family-friendly event organized and implemented by the students of DelVal to benefit campus activities and clubs. This three-day event brings the campus and the surrounding community together for educational exhibits, fun competitions, entertainment, local vendors, and delicious food and treats.

Pig races are back, as well as farm animal education, pony rides, carriage rides, interactive demonstrations, blacksmithing, and inflatable obstacle courses. The event will also include food trucks, indoor and outdoor vendors and crafters, a tractor parade, and the legendary milkshakes from PA Dairymen’s Association Milkshakes. We had more than 8,000 guests at A-Day 2022 and this year will be just as exciting!

A long-standing tradition at DelVal, the first A-Day was held in May of 1949. At that time, A-Day was a single day when students worked together to showcase various agricultural displays, farm animals, and other exhibits. Today, the tradition continues as students gain hands-on, real-world experience by planning and implementing A-Day with minimal guidance from the university's staff, faculty, and administration. Since 2004, A-Day has been part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. At A-Day, there is something for everyone and the event is sure to be fun for all.
