Dr. Jason Downs

Dr. Jason Downs earned his Ph.D. from Yale and has actively researched and published on Pennsylvania fossils for his entire professional career. He joined Delaware Valley University’s biology department in 2015. In addition to teaching at DelVal, he is also a research associate with the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia (ANSP). As a DelVal faculty member, he has taken students on tours of the ANSP fossil collection. He is working on developing a program that would allow small crews of DelVal students to gain field experience on fossil digs in Pennsylvania. Downs was selected for the 2016 to 2018 Delaware Valley University Professorship Award.
