Dr. Audrey Ervin
Dr. Audrey Ervin, the academic director of Delaware Valley University’s graduate counseling psychology program, is a practicing, licensed psychologist. She teaches counseling psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Ervin completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Memphis and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Delaware. For her fellowship, she specialized in diversity issues and mindfulness-based interventions in therapy. Her clinical and research interests focus on multicultural competence with particular emphasis on gender, sexual orientation, racial identity and transgender and gender expansive identities.
She has presented work at numerous national and international conferences including the American Psychological Association, the Association for Women in Psychology and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. She was the national spokesperson for the Association for Women in Psychology and concurrently served as a member of the implementation collective.
Dr. Ervin is an avid public speaker who presents nationally and internationally on competent multicultural practices in business, organizations and education. She served as staff psychologist for multiple voyages aboard Semester at Sea, a comparative international study abroad program that journeyed to Central America, South America, Europe and North Africa. She has been quoted in various media outlets including Time magazine, NBC News and Psychology Today.
Dr. Ervin serves on the Committee on Multiculturalism for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. At DelVal, she currently co-chairs the President's Commission on Diversity and Inclusion. The Commission develops and implements diversity and inclusion initiatives, which are priorities in the University's strategic plan.
Dr. Ervin owns Ervin Counseling & Consulting, LLC., where she is a practicing psychologist. She is a nationally certified Stop The Hate trainer and serves as a co-chair for Doylestown Pride.
Dr. Ervin was awarded DelVal’s Distinguished Faculty Member Award, named to The Bucks County Courier Times “40 under 40” list, and was named to the “99 Top Professors in Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy” list.
She has certificates in Mindfulness from Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.
