Camden County College and Delaware Valley University announce transfer partnership

Camden County College and Delaware Valley University officially signed a transfer articulation agreement today, Friday, April 29, which will provide a seamless pathway for CCC students who want to transfer to DelVal. The partnership consists of three special agreements.

Under the Guaranteed Transfer Admission Agreement, students who earn associate degrees from CCC will be guaranteed admission to DelVal. 

“This agreement assures seamless transfer for Camden County College students looking to transfer to a school with small classes that utilizes an applied and theoretical approach to learning," said Dr. Margaret Hamilton, CCC's vice president for academic affairs. 

Under the Core-to-Core Agreement, students who graduate from CCC’s Associate in Science and Associate in Arts degree programs will have satisfied DelVal’s general education requirements or core courses. This will allow CCC students to complete a minor or take electives that interest them without losing credits earned from their associate degrees.

The program-to-program agreement facilitates the transfer of CCC students who have completed associate degrees into 11 academic majors at DelVal including: business administration (with the option of specializing in sports management), biology, chemistry, counseling psychology, criminal justice, environmental science, food technology, history, policy and society, literary studies, media and communication and secondary education.

“Under this agreement, students who earn associate degrees from CCC will be guaranteed admission as juniors, and will have satisfied DelVal’s core requirements,” said Art Goon, DelVal’s vice president for enrollment management.  “This will allow them to focus immediately on their major degree requirements.”

CCC students will also be eligible for DelVal transfer scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $19,500 per academic year for full-time students, and $1,500 per semester for part-time students.  

"The scholarships underscore DelVal’s commitment to providing CCC students with a pathway to an affordable bachelor’s degree," said Goon. "The University is committed to being the 'most transfer friendly university' in the region."

The partnership is the start of a relationship with the community college that may expand in the future.  

“CCC continues to educate outstanding students who are extremely prepared to continue and earn bachelor’s degrees,” said DelVal President Dr. Joseph Brosnan.  “We look forward to welcoming more CCC students as a result of this new agreement, and will continue to explore additional partnership opportunities."

CCC and DelVal representatives are also discussing ways to jointly expand educational opportunities for military and veteran students and students in the College's Honors Program.

“Both institutions share a commitment to supporting the men and women who serve our country,” said Goon.  “We are excited about exploring ways we can use our agreement to provide bachelor’s degree completion programs for the military and veteran students who earn associate degrees at CCC.”

CCC graduates interested in enrolling at DelVal in the fall semester can take advantage of the guaranteed admission, core-to-core, and program-to-program agreements, as well as the transfer scholarships immediately.
