During his time as Bucks County’s District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub has been involved in prosecuting high-profile criminal cases. Weintraub will share his experiences during a public guest lecture at Delaware Valley University entitled, “Justice: The Search for the Truth in a Fair Manner.”

The event, which is being sponsored by the University’s Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, will be held Wednesday, April 10 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in room 114 of the Mandell Science Building. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome. Guests do not need to register in advance.

The journey to recovery efforts and the concurrent search for the truth in high-profile cases is often a tremendous effort involving countless members of the law enforcement community and the community at large. Investigations involve collaboration, sensitive and thoughtful communication, support and a level of care that goes beyond the basic call of duty in order to effectively and respectfully solve complex crimes. Weintraub will discuss criminal justice and the protection of the citizens of Bucks County with regard to criminal investigations.

“Justice: The Search for the Truth in a Fair Manner,” will examine prosecutorial discretion and the truth determining process in high-profile cases including, but not limited to, homicides.

Weintraub is an Upper Southampton native with 25 years of experience as a prosecutor. As District Attorney, he oversees an office staff of about 100 employees, including 40 prosecutors. He has spearheaded and endorsed many ongoing county-wide anti-drug initiatives in recent years, among other county-wide anti-crime community measures, which include: Crimewatch; Ben’s Campaign, a gun lock distribution initiative; a DUI Task Force and a Drug Strike Force; and the local DNA database.  He enjoys educating the public on justice and public safety in schools and in communities across Bucks County.
