New Online Graduate Program Will Prepare Professionals to Lead and Manage Teams

Delaware Valley University’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies is launching a new Master of Arts in Management and Organizational Leadership. The fully online, 36-credit, accelerated M.A. will launch in fall 2020 with courses beginning Aug. 24. The University will accept students on a rolling basis.

DelVal Director of Graduate Programs in Business Dr. Kristi Ringen designed the program with the needs of both employers and students in mind.

“Recent employer surveys show that hiring managers are looking for a unique combination of both creative, collaborative, and technical skills in their prospective employees," said Dr. Ringen. "Most graduate programs focus on one or two of these aspects, but few integrate all three. Our goal was to create a program that was versatile enough to allow graduates to enter the field of their choice either as their first job or as they look to change careers.”

Students will start with two courses in business acumen, providing them with a basis of understanding in topics like business law, ethics, international business, finance and accounting. Other core courses include: Leadership Through Self Awareness, Data-Driven Decision Making, Managerial Communications, and Managing Strategic Organizational Change. Each course runs between six and eight weeks in length.

Interested students are encouraged to submit a program inquiry or, to contact Dr. Ringen at kristi.ringen@delval.edu. Students who are unable to enter for the fall term are welcome to join the program at any one of six entry points throughout the year. The University also welcomes requests from local employers who are interested in converting any of the listed courses into smaller, employee development courses and workshops.
