Do you own a small farm and would like to raise your own livestock? Or would you like to raise a few sheep or goats, or produce your own eggs and milk for breakfast, and more? Or, are you considering starting a small-scale agricultural business? Look no further.
This short six-week course, led by six expert faculty members of Delaware Valley University, will focus on a variety of different topics each week. An overview of basic production topics, introduction to breeds, breeding, feeding and nutrition, care of young, meats, and health management of livestock for new producers will be discussed. Topics to be covered include Soils and Pasture Management, Sheep & Goats, Dairy, Poultry, Swine, & Cattle.
The course will also feature a guided walking tour of Delaware Valley University’s Farm (Sheep, Dairy, & Cattle Facilities).
