This Veterans Day, Delaware Valley University reflects on the incredible contributions of veterans who bring stories of sacrifice, courage, and dedication to our communities. A sustainable agricultural systems alumna, is headed to Arlington, Virginia to be a policy intern for the National Association for State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA).
Emily Gielda ’17, is a DelVal biology alumna, Drexel College of Medicine graduate student, and ChristianaCare Gene Editing Institute staff scientist, who is currently working on one of the main drugs in the Institute’s pipeline for non-small cell lung cancer.
Bill Fritz, Chair of the Department of Animal Science at Delaware Valley University (DelVal), attended an Advanced Shearing School at Cornell. Following the opportunity, Dr. Fritz was featured in an article by the American Sheep Industry’s (ASI) News Magazine, which included details about how his experience at Cornell will help him teach his students the basics of shearing.
Conservation and wildlife management alumnus, Jacob Miranda ’21, is currently a graduate biology student and graduate assistant at Arkansas State University. Miranda says, “DelVal gave me excellent opportunities to succeed, but I was the one who had to take advantage of those opportunities.”
