According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for skilled, trusted, strategic and influential leaders is greater than ever before. The BLS projects a 9% increase in employment of managers from 2020-2030, with a median annual wage of $109,760 in 2020. A Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Communication will serve those looking to enter and/or advance in the field of business with a focus on high-level leadership principles, communication and strategic management with a people-centered approach to leadership.
The graduate certificate in Leadership and Communication is designed for professionals looking to elevate their potential as a trusted leader and exceptional communicator across a variety of industries including but not limited to education, government, private sector, non-profit sector, healthcare, corporate entities and more.
Guided by expert faculty members who are active leaders and practitioners in their area of expertise, students gain exposure to key concepts including but not limited to current leadership theories and practice, practical leadership assessment and philosophies, quantitative techniques for problem solving and decision making, team leadership theories and application, corporate writing and communication, persuasive communication, and negotiation, change management and more.
Students also can self-select pre-determined elective courses that reflect each student’s individual interests and career goals but serve as a compliment to the credential and potential future master’s program pathway opportunities.
The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Communication is a 12 credit certificate. All four courses will automatically transfer to the Master of Agribusiness Management, Master of Management and Organizational Leadership & Master of Business Administration programs. Up to two courses will automatically transfer to the Master in Healthcare Administration program.
Classes start in January, March, May, and July.
